Kyle Heflin

Kyle Andrew Heflin of Bristow, Virginia died April 17th, 2010 at his home. Kyle was born at Prince William Hospital on April 7, 1986. It was good that he was born in Spring because his personality was just like the season, sunny and optimistic. Kyle loved hiking and camping, playing his X-box, and being with his friends. He was loyal to a fault and never seemed to meet a stranger; he made new friends in only minutes after meeting someone. Kyle's brothers and sister all considered him the smartest. When he learned there was no chess team at Osbourn High School he got friends together and formed a club, of which he served as vice president. Kyle was a creative person and enjoyed art, particularly drawing. He also had a passion for science, majored in biology, taught himself calculus, and was going to graduate from Northern Virginia Community College with an associate of science degree after one more semester. Kyle couldn't sing a bit but that didn't stop him from loving music and he always had something playing. He traveled all over the United States and internationally, with a trip throughout Europe as a student in the People to People Ambassador Program, and then vacations to Russia, the Carribean, and South America. Because of his travels, life experiences, and education he conversed on many subjects but always with a kind of humility that drew people to him. He had a great sense of humor, a very sharp wit and loved both to laugh and to make people laugh. Kyle worked hard in all he did and was currently employed at Wegmans Lake Manassas. Kyle is survived by his mother Lora Pando-Pauley, and step-father Oscar Pando, of Bristow, Virginia; his father Rowland Heflin of Alexandria, Virginia; brother Justin Heflin of Gainesville, Virginia; brother Private First Class Eric Heflin of Fort Gordon, Georgia; brother Ian Heflin; sister Brianna Heflin; maternal grandparents Billy and Myra Pauley of Tannersville, Virginia; paternal grandmother Marie Heflin of Wellington, Florida; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, Virginia. Interment will follow in a private family service held in Tannersville, Virginia on Sunday April 25, 2010. Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America or to the charity of your choice in memory of Kyle Heflin.
