Juanita Diaz

It is with deep love and gratitude for a well-lived life that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Juanita Perez Diaz, who transitioned peacefully surrounded by her family on April 10, 2025, at the age of 94. Born September 9, 1930, in Santiago, Dominican Republic to the late Rosendo Antonio Perez and Margarita Munoz. Juanita was the youngest of her parents’ five children, a devoted daughter and cherished sister to Luis, Jose, Eladio, and Consuelo. She leaves to her surviving sons, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren the invaluable inheritance centered on the Lord Jesus Christ. A lifelong and faithful member of the Seventh-day Adventist faith, Juanita lived each day reflecting the love of Jesus —marked by humility, generosity, and a steadfast belief in God’s word. Her commitment to her faith was strong and enduring; she lived her life in service to others with joy and grace. Established early in her youth, Juanita enjoyed attending worship service, bible study, and community service. Always an active member of her church congregation and natural contralto, Juanita took great joy singing in the church choir. However no greater joy would be declared by Juanita than that of leading her six children to the knowledge of God. She treasured the time when she would gather her children unto herself for Sabbath worship. Her life’s example remains as an undeniable influence for her family and all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, husband Arturo Rafael Diaz, and daughter Brenda Diaz-Walker. She is survived by her five children: Arthur Obed Diaz (Maria) of Silver Spring, Maryland, Edgardo Arthur Diaz (Shirley) of Inwood, West Virginia, Ishver Arthur Diaz (Lisa) of Senoia, Georgia, Gamaliel Arthur Diaz (Annabelle) of Woodbridge, Virginia, and Kevin Arthur Diaz (Kasey) of Bristow, Virginia. She also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family members and friends who were blessed by her love and care. In honor of Juanita’s journey home, we remember not only the warmth of her smile and the beauty of her spirit, but also the quiet way she walked with God every day, living a life that honored Him and blessed others. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at Pierce Funeral Home in Manassas, Virginia at a date to be determined by the family.
