John David Meczywor

JOHN D. MECZYWOR August 21, 1993- October 20, 2024 It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of SSG John David Meczywor, who passed away at the age of 31 on October 20, 2024. John was born and raised in Adams, Massachusetts, and graduated from Hoosac Valley High School in 2011. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in August 2014, dedicating 10 years of service to his country. Over the course of his career, John was stationed in Georgia, South Korea, Texas, California, and Virginia. At the time of his death, John was assigned to Arlington National Cemetery. John was a devoted family man. He leaves behind his wife of 10 years, Adriana Meczywor, and their two beautiful daughters, Camila and Sienna. He is also survived by his mother, Pamela Meczywor, father, Michael Meczywor, stepmother, Lisa Meczywor, and his siblings: Brian Langer, Stanley Meczywor, Christopher O’Boyle, Michelle O’Boyle, and Nicole O’Boyle. He was also a cherished member of a large extended family, including aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. John had a deep love for the outdoors, and he shared that passion with his family. Weekend plans often included fishing trips and outdoor adventures, where he created lasting memories, especially with his daughters. When he wasn’t exploring nature, John enjoyed quiet days at home—snuggling on the couch, watching movies, or engaging in friendly Yu-Gi-Oh card battles. Above all, John will be remembered for his incredible work ethic and unwavering dedication to the Army. He was passionate about weightlifting and always pushed himself to be better in all aspects of life. His devotion to his family was unmatched, and the lifelong friendships he formed enriched the lives of everyone who knew him. John had a smile that could light up any room, and even on his toughest days, he went out of his way to make those around him smile. John’s passing leaves an indescribable void that will be felt deeply by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. We are forever grateful for the love, laughter, and cherished memories he gave to all who were lucky enough to call him family.
