James Edward Minteer

James Edward Minteer (Known as "Jim" by all who knew him) was one of three sons- adorned husband to Josefina (Balagot) Minteer, dearly loved father of James Antonio Minteer Jr., Michael Edward Minteer and grandfather of Sophia Minteer, Mason Minteer and Kylie Minteer. He was a very dear and honest friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him and loved by all. He would always lend a helping hand to anyone in need even at his own expense. Jim would always go out of his way to try and make better for his family as best as possible. Jim was dependable, reliable, trustworthy, adventurous, daring, devoted catholic and an all-around great man! He had a great sense-of-humor and would always come up with some type of catch-phrase or rebuttal to jokes. Jim would always make light of any situation and look towards the positive side of things. Jim was also a US Air Force veteran and was honorably discharged after many years of service. Some of Jim's hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping, bowling, grilling-out as well as doing anything outdoors. He loved riding motorcycles and driving sport cars. He also enjoyed watching sci-fi movies, military and suspense movies and TV series like Star-Trek and MASH. He was also a skilled tradesman- he could fix anything and even had his own TV/Radio repair service. Also enjoyed HAMM radio. Jim loved buttered popcorn! Some of his favorite foods were grilled hamburgers and hot-dogs. He also enjoyed seafood and loved eating raw oysters. He was never shy of trying any type of food. Survivors include: wife Josefina Minteer in Gainesville, VA, son: Michael Minteer with wife Rita in Fairfax, VA; grandkids: Sophia, Mason & Kylie Minteer. The family will have a service at Pierce Funeral Home in Manassas, Virginia this Friday 04/19/24 starting with a viewing at 10am, service at 11am and then Entombment at Stonewall Memory Gardens in Manassas, VA at 12-noon.
