HAROLD LEWIS "BUDDY" HARVEY, devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, age 66 of Manassas, Virginia died Thursday, January 24, 2008 at Prince William Hospital, Manassas, Virginia after a year long battle with diabetes and heart disease. Mr. Harvey was born May 7, 1941 in Summerlee, West Virginia son of the late Lewis D. and Lura M. Massey Harvey. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Manassas, Manasseh Lodge No. 182, A.F. & A.M., Manassas, Knights Templar #026, ACCA Shriners and American Legion Post #10, Manassas. He was employed by Northwest Airlines as a Crew chief Mechanic and retired after 36 years. He was also a U.S. Air Force veteran and an avid golfer. Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Judith A. Harvey; four children, Susan Harvey Surkamp and husband Arthur of Manassas, VA, Donald Lewis Harvey and wife Heather of Woodbridge, VA, Gregory Allen Harvey and wife Terri of Nokesville, VA and Steven Michael Harvey and wife Jennie of Mooresville, NC; one sister, Carol J. Sizemore and husband Bob of Manassas, VA; six grandchildren, Nicholas Blair Surkamp, Mitchell Ryan Surkamp, Dylan Lewis Harvey, Haiden Lynn Harvey, Chad Michael Harvey and Cole William Harvey; one aunt, Mary Frances Allen of Jefferson, MD; 13 nieces and nephews; numerous cousins and his faithful dog, "Buddy". Also preceded in death by one sister, Lura Jean Tincher. The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 P.M. Friday, January 25, 2008 at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas with a Masonic Service at 8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 26, 2008 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 8006 Centreville Road, Manassas with Dr. Rodney F. Autry and Pastor Scott David officiating. Interment will follow at Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas.
