Hardy Antonio Gilbert

Hardy “Tony” Antonio Gilbert, 47, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday June 13, 2020. Hardy was born to Bernedette Gilbert in Alexandria, VA on August 16, 1972. Hardy cherished family, especially the one created with his partner in life for the last 31 years, Marisol “Mary” Gilbert (Collins). Hardy and Mary were high school sweethearts, who married in 1996, and have since lovingly raised their three daughters, Celina (21), Brianna (18), and Amaya (12). Hardy was a family man whose favorite times and stories revolved around supporting the ideas and passions of his girls, as they were the center of his world. Hardy truly lived life to the fullest, finding joy in all sorts of active interests that he would find ways to do year-round. Anyone close to him knew Hardy was happiest when he was outside. You could see his eyes light up when Hardy had either a fishing rod or grilling tools in his hands or some sort of wheels under his body, from rollerblades and bicycles to motorcycles and trucks. Hardy loved when he could share his hobbies and adventures with his family and friends, and always had a plan brewing for the next adventure. Hardy had a way to make everyone he spent time with smile and laugh with tales from his latest exploits. He had a laugh that was simply contagious and a personality that could light up any room. Hardy was a success story. He made the leap to joining the workforce immediately after graduating from TC William High School in Alexandria, VA in 1990. Hardy worked his way into creating an accomplished career in IT with Booz Allen Hamilton. Hardy truly enjoyed going to work and the connections he made there early on, as was evident by the fact that he transitioned into his first role with Booz Allen Hamilton in 2009 after having them as a client for the nine years prior. In his most recent position, Hardy was the team lead responsible for the firm’s Enterprise Support Center. Hardy was a true leader and was the person others would go to, not just for his technical expertise and knowledge in the field, but because of the way he communicated with the people around him. Hardy was a people person, so with every encounter came a genuine smile to put you at ease and usually a hearty laugh. Hardy was predeceased by his younger brother Larry Gilbert. Hardy is survived by his wife, daughters, mother, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
