Guida J. Lawrence

Guida Jacqueline Lawrence, 84, entered fully into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, November 27, 2018. We rejoice that God chose to take her home during her favorite season that celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ. “Jackie”, as she was best known, was born on July 8, 1934 in Galax, Virginia to Donald H. Dean, Sr. and Josephine “Josie” Lawson Dean, both of whom have gone to be with the Lord. She was the oldest of nine children, five of whom have predeceased her, John Robert “Bob” Dean, Donald H. “Don” Dean, Jr., Kelly Franklin Dean, Cecil Wayne Dean and Linda Lou Dean. She is survived by her brother, Ronny “Ron” H. Dean and his wife Sandy, Becky Perry and her husband C.G. and Patricia Diane Lee and her husband Patrick. Jackie was a devoted, loving mother to four children and one step-daughter. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Roberta Aileen Lawrence and is survived by her children, Nikki Linn Marshall and her husband Troy, Rebecca Charlotte Harding and her husband Gary, Robert Weldon Lawrence, Jr., and his wife Justyna, and her step-daughter, Diane Fleming, and her husband Paul. Jackie is also survived by nine grandchildren, Troy Douglas Marshall, II, Matthew Sterling Marshall and his wife, Kimberly, Allison Nicole Zanelotti and her husband Patrick, Justin Tyler Harding and his wife Alana, Amanda Jane Harding, Rachel Jacqueline Harding, Gerald Edward Lawrence and his wife Kathryn, Robert Weldon Lawrence, III and his wife Lyndsey, Noah Riley Lawrence, and two step-grandchildren, Tammy Beranza and husband Marcos and Dawn Miller and husband Tim. Jackie is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Kyla Grace Lawrence and Elsie Maribel Harding. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, extended family and devoted friends. Jackie served as President of the Parent Teacher Association and a substitute teacher in Baltimore, Maryland when her children were in elementary school. Although she worked several jobs during her early working years, her 20-year career as a dedicated court and jury clerk began when she relocated from Laredo, Texas to Virginia in 1980. During her service with Prince William County Circuit Court she was awarded the prestigious Liberty Bell Award for outstanding service to the law and her community as it relates to each citizen’s civic responsibilities. She was a member of Manassas Assembly of God for almost forty years, now known as Chapel Springs Assembly of God. She continued to worship with her church family at Manassas Health and Rehab Center until a week prior to her death. Jackie’s devotion to her faith was evident throughout her entire life, shown by her unconditional love to family, friends and even strangers. She will always be remembered for her warm inviting smile, her bear hugs and her undeniable style. What she would want to be remembered for most is her love and commitment to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who she shared with everyone she met. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm, Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, Virginia 20110. Services will be held at Chapel Springs Assembly of God, 11500 New Life Way, Bristow, Virginia 20136 at 2:00 pm on Sunday, December 2, 2018. Interment will be held at Bethany United Methodist Church, Austinville, Virginia at 1:00 pm, Monday, December 3, 2018.
