Glenda Sue Weston-McCray

Glenda Sue Weston-McCray, 64, of Annandale, Virginia, passed away on January 10, 2023. She was born to Billie DeBord and Glenford Talbert in Saltville, Virginia on February 22, 1958. Glenda “Tink” loved her family, friends and husband James with all her heart. Glenda worked at George Mason University for 41 years in the Facilities Department, she was a hard and dedicated worker that loved all her guys and co workers. When she wasn’t working she loved spending time with her family, and fur babies. She loved her trips to the Beaches, Florida, Las Vegas and down home (where she was born). She always had to have her crab legs on her beach trips, and watch the sunrise rise to catch a glimpse of the Dolphins. Glenda and James also loved sitting on the Board Walk benches to eat ice cream and people watch. She and James would always go out dancing, she loved soul music and Elvis Presley. It was nothing to see her out on the dance floor “cutting up the rug” she would express. She loved cooking for others, and if she wasn’t cooking she was ordering take-out, she was always trying to feed you and wouldn’t take no for an answer. You could always find her many nights at the Bingo Hall with all her lucky trinkets and she was pretty lucky at winning too. She was such an amazing, strong and determined person, that always made a way and things happen. This showed even more with her fight with Cancer. She was considered “His Star Patient” by her Oncologist and brought a smile to all the Nurses, who loved and thought so much of her. She fought really hard all the way to the end with no complaints and full of love. She was always more worried and thought of everyone else before herself. She had so Much Love and appreciation to give and share. She was so excited to be a Granny and more excited for her promotion as Great Granny, even though they still called her Granny and she loved them all so much and they loved her so much too. Within the short amount of time of her Great Granny greatness, she gave them enough love for the rest of their lives. She spoiled them endlessly. If you think of Glenda, a deep memory surfaces. Where you may smile or laugh. Glenda left an imprint on our hearts and mind. To know Glenda, meant you knew an angel on earth. She cared deeply about every person that came across her path. Despite any title she earned in her life, you may think of her as a mom or close sister. No amount of words can truly express the great imprint and impact that she left on each and every individual life.. Glenda joins her husband James McCray, mother Billie Crews, stepfather John Crews, father in law James McCray, sister Debra Proctor and her husband Franklin Proctor, brothers Ralph Crews and Randall Crews, brother in law Timothy Riley, nephew Johnathon Riley “Blue Eyes” and furrbaby Winston Weston-McCray. She is survived by her children Angela Weston (Keith Barbour), Betty Weston (Keith Slade), Derrick Williams, Ashlee Williams; Grandchildren Briana Samuel (Mauricio Dinarte), Alysia Samuel (Mac James), Casondra Samuel (Rashad Norris), Nikya Slade, Faith Slade, Jorden Slade, Giquan Williams, Zoie Williams, and August Williams; Great-Grandchildren, Mackenzie Avery James, Mauricio “Antonio” Dinarte Jr, Amir Taheem Norris, Mackai Shareef James, Aries Slade and Amina Sue Marie Norris; Mother in law, Eddith McCray; Sisters, Teresa Miller and Tina Riley; Brothers, Robert Crews (Jackie) and Anthony Crews (Kim); Brother n laws, Bruce McCray (Jackie), Sam McCray and Kent McCray; Furrbaby Lucky Weston. Many loving nieces, nephews, family and friends. Family and friends will gather for Visitations on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center St., Manassas, VA 20110. Funreal Services will be held the following day, Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Pierce Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sudley Methodist Church Cemetery, 5308 Sudley Rd., Manassas, VA 20109.
