In Loving Memory of George L. Snyder “Buddy” | “Pappy” January 8, 1945 – October 9, 2025 It is with tremendous sadness and overflowing love that we share the passing of George L. Snyder, affectionately known as Buddy and Pappy, who went home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 9, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. George was born on January 8, 1945, in Belvedere, New Jersey. He lived 80 beautiful years filled with purpose, laughter, and unshakable faith. He was a man who didn’t just believe in love and kindness, he lived it. To know George was to feel seen, valued, and cared for. Whether through a handshake, a warm meal, or a heartfelt conversation, he made everyone he met feel like family. He was introduced to his Lord and Savior by a faithful friend in the early days of his Air Force career, a friendship (as with many) that lasted a lifetime. George’s life was forever changed as he fell in love with the Lord and, very soon after, Sandy. Married only a few weeks after meeting and with a year-long honeymoon in Okinawa, Japan, they spent 59 beautiful years together centered around Christ. Following his military service, he became a successful businessman. Soon after, the Lord revealed to him his calling as a servant leader. George submitted and never looked back. He served the Lord and his community in various ways, from principal of a school to local newspapers. His purpose was simple: to love people and glorify the Lord. For the past 20 years, as the proud Operator of Chick-fil-A Signal Hill, George didn’t just run a restaurant; he built a family. His leadership was marked by kindness, humility, and heart. To his team, he was more than a boss; he was a mentor, a cheerleader, and a steady hand of encouragement. To his guests, he was the friendly face that made them feel at home. George had a gift for turning ordinary moments into something meaningful. He was passionate about helping others through charity, community service, and simple acts of kindness. He believed in lifting others up, and he did it with joy and sincerity. Outside of work, George found happiness in the simple, beautiful things: family gatherings full of laughter, spontaneous adventures, and cheering for his beloved Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He loved taking friends and loved ones to games, not just for the sport but for the memories it created. He also had a lifelong love for Elvis Presley, often filling the house with music and dancing with his great-grandchildren. To his family, he was larger than life, the heart of every gathering, the one who made every moment special, and the one you could always count on. He created a world of magic for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, making sure they always felt loved, safe, and full of wonder. George loved God, family, and country, in that sacred order. His faith guided his every step, his patriotism ran deep, and his love for his family was the foundation of his world. Though our hearts ache at his passing, we rejoice knowing he’s finally home, healed, whole, and singing with the angels. His life was a masterpiece of love and service, and his legacy will continue to ripple through generations. We will miss his laughter, his wisdom, his Elvis songs, and the way he made every person feel like they mattered. But we find peace in knowing that he’s still doing what he always did best, spreading light, love, and laughter, just from a higher place. George is survived by the love of his life and devoted wife, Sandra Snyder; his cherished daughter, Anne Marie Allander; and is preceded in death by his beloved sons, Eric Snyder and Dyric Snyder. He was a proud and devoted Pappy to seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, who brought him endless joy. “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:21
