George Henry Hill III

George Henry Hill III was born 29 November 1942 in Pittsburg, PA. He was the second child and oldest son of George Henry Hill Jr and Helen Louise Craig Hill. He lived in Pitcairn PA and Irwin, PA until his marriage when he and his wife moved to Falls Church, VA for 3 years and then moved to Fairfax, VA for 2.5 years. They finally settled on in Yorkshire Acres in Manassas, VA where they have been since 1967. George enjoyed being a machinist, having worked at Tek Am / Phoenix Corp of Springfield, VA and Lorton, VA. George was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the D.C. temple. He loved his family; he also enjoyed the outdoors and loved listening to and watching a good rain storm. Rain on a tin roof was one of his favorite sounds. He passed away at home on 11 May 2020 in Manassas, VA, surrounded by his wife and children. His immediate family will hold a grave-side memorial service on Thursday, 14 May 2020 at 10:00 a.m. EDT which will be relayed via Zoom. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Esther Lida Hill King, and younger brother, Dennis Ephraim Hill. He is survived by his wife of 57 years 9 months, Virginia Ann Blake Hill They were married on 19 August 1962 in Harrison City, PA. He is also survived by his 4 children: Sheryl Sue Hill Bartlett (Steven) of Grantsville, UT; George Henry Hill IV (Marla) of Magna, UT; Brett Adam Hill (Maria) of Nampa, ID; Rebecca Lynn Hill Delgado (Alvaro) of Orange, VA. George has 18 grand children: Shane Steven Bartlett (Sandy) of Stansbury Park, UT; Blake Owen Bartlett (Marcie) of Grantsville, UT; Ashley Lynn Bartlett Davis (Ben) of Ogden, UT; Bryce Joseph Bartlett of Grantsville, UT; George Henry V, Hiram James, and Aaron Nigel Hill of Magna UT; Jali Dru Hill Ballantyne (Ethan) of Nampa ID; Abbie Jayd, Maendi Ann, Adam Daniel, Niklys Andrew, and Gini Marie Hill of Nampa, ID; Lucy Skye Delgado of Louisiana; Alvaro Andres, Justin Julius, Anna Rebecca, and Bonnie Angel of Orange, VA; and 3 great grand children. He is also survived by his nephew, Shawn Michael King.
