1 In Loving Memory of Florentina Gonzalez It is with deep sadness and immense love that we announce the passing of Florentina Gonzalez, who passed away at the age of 84. Born in El Salvador to Felix and Justiniana Gonzalez, Florentina later made her home in Virginia, where she built a life centered on faith, family, and love. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, proud great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose kindness and strength touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Florentina was preceded in death by her beloved husband, as well as her siblings Juan Gonzalez, Octavia Sorto, Guillermina Guzman, and Agustin Gonzalez. She is survived by her daughter, Teresa De Jesus Semidey and her husband, John Semidey; and her son, JoseFabriciano Gonzalez Bonilla and his wife, Alejandra Gonzalez. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Alva M Needham and her husband, James B Needham;Sandra V Gonzalez; Jose Diaz Gonzalez; Brenda X Lazo and her husband, Jose R Lazo Vasquez; Jennifer KSemidey; Jason R Semidey and his wife, Ashley Semidey; Jessica E Herrera and her husband, Roger Herrera;Christian A Gonzalez; and Alexis N Gonzalez Menendez. Her legacy continues through her cherished great-grandchildren: James Needham Jr., Cameron Needham,Ethan Needham, Teddy Needham, Matthew Lazo, Noah Lazo, Steve Herrera, Joseph Semidey, Elli Semidey,Mackenzie Semidey, and Lexie Semidey. She is also lovingly remembered by her brothers and sister, Arcadio Gonzalez, Inez Gonzalez, and Gregoria Gonzalez, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory. Florentina's greatest joy in life was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She treasured every family gathering and found happiness in simply being surrounded by those she loved most. A wonderful cook, she expressed her love through the meals she prepared, always making sure no one left her home hungry. Her door was always open, welcoming family, friends, and anyone in need with warmth, kindness, and generosity. A woman of deep and unwavering faith, Florentina's relationship with God guided the way she lived her life.She was strong, resilient, hardworking, and selfless, always putting the needs of others before her own. Hergentle spirit, compassionate heart, and unwavering love for her family left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. Those who knew Florentina will remember her warm smile, caring nature, and the unconditional love she shared so freely. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy of faith, love, generosity, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.2 Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Pierce Funeral Home, Inc. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the viewing on Monday, July 13, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at Iglesia Pentecostal Bethel, 8285 Glen Eagles Lane, Fairfax Station, VA 22039. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Comfort Cemetery, 6600 S.Kings Highway, Alexandria, VA 22306.
