Donald Sager

DONALD RAY SAGER, age 54 of Manassas, Virginia died Sunday, March 14, 2010 at his residence. Donald was born September 4, 1955 in Shenandoah, Virginia, son of the late Richard Newton Sager and Alma Frances Gwin Sager. He was also preceded in death by one brother, David Alan Sager. Survivors include two children, Kenneth A. Sager of Manassas and Kimberly A. Wriston and husband Adam of Red House, West Virginia; his mother, Alma Frances Sager; two sisters, Debbie Sager and Darlene King; his wife of 30 years, Anita Sager and his beloved dog, Trapper. He was a dedicated employee of the City of Manassas for almost 30 years where he currently was a Civil Engineer with Development Services since 2008. He was also a Senior Engineer with the City of Manassas Public Works from 1984-2008, a Survey Party chief with the City of Manassas Public Works from 1980-1984, a Computer/Design Draftsman with Garnett M. Womack & Associates, Manassas from 1979-1980, a Draftsman/Designer/Computer with Tayloe Surveys, Inc., Dumfries from 1975-1979 and a Part-time Computer/Designer/Draftsman for Thomas Surveys from 1992-1998. He attended Toms Brook Elementary School, Toms Brook, VA; Jennie Dean Middle School, Manassas; Osbourn Senior High School, Manassas. Donald was a life member of the North Carolina Beach Buggy Association(NCBBA); a member of the Bradley Forest Recreation Association (BFRA) and board member 1994-2008; the Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge # 1380; the Occoquan Bassmasters (Freshwater Fishing Club); Bass Anglers Sportsman Society (BASS) and the National Rifle Association (NRA). He enjoyed fishing, hunting, genealogy research and relic hunting and supported 4-H shooting education. The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas where funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, March 19, 2010 with Rev. Leslie Oakes officiating. Interment will follow at Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas.
