Deborah Lee Jones

Deborah ‘Debbie’ Lee Jones, 70, of Manassas, peacefully went home to be with the Lord and the love of her life, Wayne on November 1, 2022, at her home with her daughters and fur baby present. She was born on February 27, 1952, in Fletcher, NC to Harold and Gleanus Poe and lived in Manassas, VA for 50 years of her life. Debbie retired from Prince William County Schools after 35 years of service. She served the Lord as a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church for 12 years. Debbie was a true inspiration and hero to all but mostly to her children. The strength and positive attitude that she kept even during her battles with colon cancer and congestive heart failure were incredible and she always had a smile on her face. She also always put a smile on other people’s faces, especially the ladies in the Infusion Center at Virginia Cancer Center and her absence was always noticed when she missed an appointment. Debbie was that special to people. In her free time, she loved to sew, do crafts, make jewelry, and spend time with her friends and family. Debbie loved to stamp cards and would always make sure her neighbors and friends at The Oaks received one for their birthday. She was affectionally known as “The Card Lady”. Debbie touched so many lives and was loved by so many people. She is survived by her children, Barbie Carroll and her husband Bobby, Melissa Lawson and her husband Gary and Jason Miller and his wife Krista; her three grandchildren, Andrew Lawson and his wife Stephanie, Brandon Carroll and Cheyenne Carroll; three honorary grandchildren, Michaella Deming, Marissa Deming and Miranda Deming; two great-grandchildren, Patrick Lawson and Aimee Lawson; 8 honorary great-grandchildren; sisters Brenda Logan and her husband Clair and Sheila Parker and her husband Eddie; several nieces, nephews and other family, friends and her fur baby Yuki and her fur grandbabies Belle, Echo and Nova. She is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Wayne Jones, her parents, her niece Jaime Edwards, her honorary grandson Austin Miller, and her fur baby Cinnamon. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, November 7, 2022, at Pierce Funeral Home 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Pierce Funeral Home with Pastor Eugene Zorbas and Pastor Ben Heflin officiating. The burial service will follow at Little Georgetown Cemetery located at 5370 Trapp Branch Road, Broad Run, VA 20137.
