David Lawrence Kline

David Kline passed away peacefully at his home in Haymarket, Virginia, on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on April 30, 1933, in Hershey, Pennsylvania, David was the son of David and Effie Kline. He grew up in Palmyra, Pennsylvania, where he developed the strong values and love of family that would guide him throughout his life. David proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Army for two years and was stationed at Fort Eustis, Virginia. Following his military service, he spent seven years as the promotional manager for the Southern Gospel quartet, The Couriers, combining his passion for music with his gift for connecting people. His lifelong dedication to Southern Gospel music earned him recognition as a member of the Pennsylvania Southern Gospel Hall of Fame. David enjoyed a successful 32-year career with Hershey Chocolate, where he worked in sales before retiring. Even in retirement, his love for Southern Gospel music remained a central part of his life. He devoted countless hours to promoting concerts and events, bringing talented artists from across the country to audiences who shared his appreciation for the music he loved. David is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Marie; his children, Kathy Zimmerman (Brian), Keith Kline, Kevin Kline (Dawn), and Kim Ryland (Todd); and his bonus children, Keith Fogle (Tina) and Tammy Devine (Greg). He was a proud grandfather to Jenna, Becka (Jeremy), Tanner (Caitlyn), Adam (Kerri), Tyler, Corey (Ashley), and Ryan (Bella), and a cherished great-grandfather to Luke, Payton, Levi, Audrey, and Aiden. His family was his greatest joy, and he treasured every moment spent with them. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, July 27, at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, Virginia. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by the service at 12:00 p.m. Burial with military honors will follow at the National Memorial Cemetery at Quantico. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made in David’s honor to the hospice team at The Medical Team or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. David will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his love of Southern Gospel music, his service to his country, and the deep love he had for his family and friends. His kindness, generosity, and gentle spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
