David John Bannan

David John Bannan, 57, of Haymarket, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 13 at Inova Fairfax Hospital surrounded by his loving family. David faced a critical respiratory illness with courage, strength, and resilience, never losing his sense of humor and remaining deeply devoted to family and those closest to him. David was born on September 8, 1968 in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania, to Adrian John Bannan and Marilyn Delores Bannan (DeMarski). Growing up in Norwood, Pennsylvania, David spent his youth riding bikes, practicing photography, and exploring nature. These passions carried into adulthood, as David dedicated his time to training for triathlons and bike races, volunteering as a photographer for veterans and their families through Willing Warriors, and caring for his beloved bearded dragon, Newman. In 2000, he and his wife Susan moved to Haymarket, Virginia, where they built a life together and raised their two children, Andrew and Caitlyn. He graduated from Interboro High School in 1986, and went on to attend Pennsylvania State University and Widener University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Information Systems. Continuing his education, David later earned a Master of Business Administration at George Washington University. He was also certified as a Project Management Professional through the Project Management Institute. David spent the last 16 years at AT&T Public Sector, where he served as Director Program Management. A life-long learner, David continually invested in his education for both personal and professional growth. Those who knew David will remember his sense of humor, generosity, and steady presence, along with his compassion for all life- including reptiles. A loyal and honest man, he was always willing to share his time, gifts, and knowledge with others- never hesitating to show up when it mattered. Above all, he was a devoted son, brother, husband, and father. David was preceded in death by his father, Adrian John Bannan. He is survived by his wife, Susan; his son, Andrew; his daughter, Caitlyn; his sister, Christine DiPaolo; and his mother, Marilyn. A celebration of life will be held at Greenwich Presbyterian Church in Nokesville, Virginia on Saturday, April 18. Visitation will begin at 1pm with a service at 2pm, followed by a reception for friends and family.
