Daniel Anthony Rogers

Daniel (Dan) Anthony Rogers of Haymarket, VA, went to meet our Lord Jesus on January 10, 2025. Dan was born on February 5, 1945, in Erie, PA, which is also where he met the love of his life. With his passing, Dan has now regained all his memories, lost his physical and emotional pain, and joined his beloved wife Eve Janet (Morettini) Rogers in Heaven. Dan worked for AT&T Communications for more than 30 years, many of them in Pittsburgh, PA, allowing Eve to stay home and raise their four children. Late in his career, Dan moved to Bell Laboratories, a huge honor as employment at Bell Laboratories required a Master’s Degree in science or math, and Dan only had a High School Diploma. Dan was a Founding Member of St. Katharine Drexel Mission since September 2000 and was an active member of the mission for the rest of his life. Dan became a Charter Resident at Capitol Ridge in Bristow, VA after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, and was a friend to every resident while there. Dan’s joyous and outgoing personality led him to speak to everyone he encountered. He lived with prostate cancer for almost a year before the Lord rescued him from its pain. Daniel is survived by 4 children and their “Additionals”: Lisa Louise Haering (Bo), Rebecca Marie Brothers (Timothy), Dean Joseph Rogers (Andrea) and Eric Daniel Rogers (Carla); 12 grandchildren and 2 more “Additionals”: Steven Haering (Samantha), Carolyn Garrett, Rebecca Longerbeam (Darin), Jennifer Brothers, Sean Haering, Lucas Haering, Sabrina Haering, Gabriel Rogers, Jacob Rogers, Sofia Rogers, Justin Rogers, and Noah Rogers; and 6 great grandchildren: Allie, Marianna, Timothy (TJ), Amelia, Wyatt, and Ariel; and 3 siblings and many cousins, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Pierce Funeral Home at 9609 Center St, Manassas, VA on Sunday, January 19, 2025, from 3-5pm and 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Katharine Drexel Mission at 15000 Waterfall Rd, Haymarket, VA on Monday, January 20, 2025, at 11am. Reception to follow at the Evergreen Fire Hall at 3510 James Madison Highway, Haymarket, VA. Condolences can also be expressed by donations to the Alzheimer’s foundation.
