After a battling cancer for the past several months, Wayne Fleury, 60, of Manassas, VA, with his wife at his side and surrounded by family and friends, went to be with God in heaven, Friday, February 22nd. Wayne was a most treasured and adoring husband, loving son, brother and caring friend. Love of God and country was quite evident to all who knew Wayne. Wayne and his wife Rachel, worked together for a number of years in the early 80's with TDX Systems, Inc. in Vienna, VA, where Wayne was a telecommunications technician and later an instructor. In 1985 & 1986 Wayne and his orange 1969 Dodge Super Bee ("Bozo") took the track championship at Sumerduck Dragway. Additional interests included being an 'avid' gun enthusiast and law enforcement supporter. In the mid-90's Wayne owned and operated "C.A.M.S." (Custom Automotive Maintenance Service) out of his home. For the past 8 years, Wayne has worked with Superior Paving/Trucking in Centreville as a dump truck driver. Wayne has been a member of American Legion, Post 10 in Manassas since 2002, serving as 2nd Vice Commander in 2006. He joined the Sons of the American Legion in 2007. Wayne's quick wit and fun sense of humor were most endearing traits. Rachel, , his wife and love of his life for the last 28+ years of "wedded bless", Gaynelle & Sam Gutierrez his parents, brother Steve and sister-in-law Diane, of Westport, sister Marie and husband Dick Libby of Manassas , mother in law - Rachel Jenkins of Front Royal, sister Shannan Fleury, niece Angela Yount and children of Tennessee, aunt Joan Fleury of Plattsburgh, NY, cousins Chris Fleury of Westport, NY, William and Allan Lawerance of Albany, NY, as well as, many, many close and dear friends…. know that God has so richly blessed us to have known and loved Wayne all his life. Wayne will be joining his father Roy Fleury, brother Michael Fleury and favorite uncle Jim Fleury, as well as, uncle Ray Fleury. The family will receive friends from 6-8p.m. Wednesday, February 27th with services to be held Thursday, February 28th at 10:00a.m. at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas ( www.piercefh.com) followed by a fellowship at 11:00a.m. at the American Legion Post 10, 9950 Cockrell Road, Manassas. Interment will be at the Essex county Veterans' Cemetery in Lewis, NY, at a later date.
