Charlotte Rae Lee

Charlotte R. Chase Lee, 92, of Manassas, VA died at Prince William Hospital after a brief illness on February 22, 2015. Charlotte was born in Peckville on February 14th, 1923, the daughter of Charles and Daisy Decker Chase, she spent most of life in Jermyn, PA. In October 2012 she made the move to Manassas, VA to be closer to more of her family. She moved to Arbor Terrace of Sudley Manor Assisted Living Facility, enjoyed many of the activities and the social interaction and spent many weekends with her family. As a loving Mother and Grandmother, Charlotte enjoyed taking part in all of the activities of her children and grandchildren and was able to also enjoy her Great Grandchildren in Virginia. Charlotte graduated from Scott High School in 1941. She worked for and retired from Sandvik Steel. She participated with the Sandvik Steel Retiree Club for many years after retirement. She was a lifelong member of Montdale United Methodist Church in which she was very active from Sunday School to Cub Scouts when her children were young, to volunteering in other capacities with the Church and United Methodist Women. She was married to her husband of 55 years, Harold T. Lee, on December 19th, 1942. Charlotte enjoyed attending car shows with her husband and his 1929 Mercedes Gazelle replica that she helped him build. Her husband preceded her in death in 1997. She was also preceded by two brothers, Arthur Chase and Alva Chase, and one sister, Omoo Lamira Chase Shook. She is survived by three sons, Randy (Celine) Lee of Catlett, VA; Robin (Charlene) Lee of Clifton, VA; and Robert (Jennifer) Lee of Scott Township, PA. Also surviving are five grandchildren; Randy JR, Christina, Amanda, Christopher and Stephanie. Four great-grandchildren; Ava, Connor, Adella and Gabriella and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will take place on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the Robert E. Decker Funeral Home, 702 River Street, Peckville, PA with services by Rev. Linda Eckersley, pastor, Montdale United Methodist Church. Interment, Sandy Banks Cemetery, Greenfield Twp at a later date when weather permits. Friends may call Friday, February 27th, 4 PM to 7 PM at the funeral home.
