Charles Louis Edwards

Charles Louis Edwards was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on July 2, 1966 to the proud parents of Lionel Batiste and Maxine Dennis. Charles began his education at Joseph A. Craig Elementary School and St. Louis Cathedral. He began his High School education at Booker T. Washington High School, but obtained his General Education Diploma from Iberville High School. He later obtained his Nursing assistant Associates Degree at American College and an Associates degree in Architectural Engineering in New Orleans, Louisiana. As life progressed, Charles exhibited the desire to learn and accomplish many skills using them to obtain jobs in construction, janitorial, services and nursing. He was most recently employed in food service at a local hospital in Richmond, Virginia. It was there where he expressed his love of interacting with patients and their families daily. Charles emphasized the importance of exercise and practiced this regularly inspiring those around him to do the same. While Charles played, was interested in, and stayed knowledgeable of many sports, he loved basketball and football the most. He received accolades for his volunteerism in community programs and also was the Youth Sports Coordinator at Yorkville Cooperative Community in Fairfax, Virginia. He attended the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter - day Saints for several years actively with his mother; he then became a member of The Rock Church in Manassas, Virginia under the teaching of Pastor Gary Johnson. Charles was a loving, son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, fiancé, and friend who will be deeply missed by those who knew him. He leaves behind: his mother - Maxine Dennis; Fiancé - Monique Clements; his daughter - Tondalaya Taylor; his sisters - Renee Batiste, Karen Batiste Williams, Vanessa Batiste Laurent, Loretta Batiste Smith, and Tanya Batiste; his nephew - Marvin Thompson; his nieces - Keturah Edwards, Zephaniah Edwards, Philladondra Thompson, and Cheyenne Simmons; his great nephews - Micaiah Edwards and Gnauvy Bailey; his great niece - Aiyannah Colbert; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and other relatives and friends. The love, laughter, and discipleship Charles shared will be missed by all.
