In Loving Memory of Carlos Romero Jr. Carlos Romero Jr., 68, of Warrenton, Virginia, passed away on September 14, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Carlos was born in Puerto Rico and raised in the Bronx, where he became a devoted Yankees fan. Go Yankees! He was the son of Carlos Romero Sr. and Carmen Ayala and a loving brother to Evelyn, Carmen, and Darlene. Carlos later moved to Long Island to raise his family and eventually came to Virginia. Wherever he went, he built a loving community around him. Carlos was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Gloria, and a loving father to Carlos, Christina, and Christopher. He was also a beloved father-in-law to Melvin, Denise, and Samantha, and a proud and deeply loving grandfather to Juan, Manny, Alex, Mason, and Aliana. His family was at the center of his life, and some of his greatest joy came from simply being together. For many years, Carlos worked as a forklift mechanic at Crown, where his dedication and strong work ethic were evident to everyone who knew him. Carlos had a deep love for baseball and sports, but what made them truly special was sharing them with his children and grandchildren. Whether watching a game, talking about sports, or simply spending time together, Carlos treasured the moments that brought his loved ones together. More than anything, Carlos will be remembered as a great example of God’s love. He carried incredible love and joy with him, making people feel welcomed, cared for, and cherished. He was not only a father to his own children; he was a father to many. He and his loving wife, Gloria, always kept their hearts and home open to anyone who needed shelter, encouragement, guidance, a meal, or simply a place to feel loved. He had a special way of making people feel like family. His generosity was not something he merely talked about; it was how he lived. He gave freely of himself and showed through his actions what it meant to love and care for others. Carlos leaves behind a beautiful legacy through his wife, children, grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, and the many lives he touched. Although his absence leaves an immeasurable space in the hearts of those who loved him, the love he gave so freely will live on through his family and every person who was blessed to know him. His family finds comfort in knowing that his suffering has ended and that he is now at peace in the presence of the Lord. “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18 Carlos will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. His home may have been a shelter for many, but his love will remain a home in the hearts of his family forever.
