Carlos Rafael Hurtado

Carlos Rafael Hurtado, age 44, passed away on September 10, 2020 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at 12:30 PM at All Saints Catholic Church, 9300 Stonewall Road, Manassas, VA. Entombment to follow at Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas, VA. He was born on August 28, 1976 in Masaya, Nicaragua to Rafael and Yadira Hurtado. He and his siblings grew up in Nicaragua until he was 11 years old at which time he and his family moved to Manassas, Virginia. He graduated from Osbourn High School in 1995, had his first child, Daniel, in 2000 and later furthered his education completing his Associates Degree in Computer Science at ECPI University. He worked at Micron for the years to come, which led to him establishing his own business in the CDL Trucking Industry. In 2005 he had his first daughter, Isabella. After a few years his business took a turn when the economy crashed in 2008. Shortly after, Carlos developed testicular cancer. After fully recovering in 2009 he began working for US Foods as a Commercial Truck Driver. In 2010 he had his second son, Dillon and in 2012 he had his second daughter, Karly. He resided in Manassas and surrounding areas until he moved to Culpeper in 2015. Carlos continued to provide for his family throughout the remainder of his years. Carlos enjoyed spending time with his kids, watching tv shows, going fishing with them, and attending their extracurricular activities. He was known to be fun, loyal, brave, and the life of the party building many lifelong friendships. He always had words of encouragement and looked out for everyone close to him. He loved his parents and siblings with all his heart and looked forward to every family gathering where he had the chance to see and bond with his beloved nieces and nephews. Above all Carlos was a family man that put his kids before anything, selflessly worked as hard as he could to better the lives of his children. Survivors include his parents: Rafael and Yadira Hurtado; four children: Daniel Hurtado, Isabella Hurtado, Dillon Hurtado and Karly Hurtado; mother of his children: Jennifer Allison; brothers: Ernesto (Mirna) Hurtado and Cristian (Amy) Hurtado and sister: Yadira (Kelvin) Martinez; nephews: Alberto Hurtado and Andres Martinez; nieces: Yesenia and Tatiana Martinez. Carlos will also be forever remembered by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and dear friends Pallbearers will be Daniel Hurtado, Isabella Hurtado, Ernesto Hurtado, Cristian Hurtado, Yadira Martinez, and William Peters.
