Barbara Marek Trunko

Barbara Marek Trunko, 61 of Bristow, Virginia, peacefully arrived in heaven on October 14th, 2021, surrounded by loved ones and friends. Born April 9th, 1961 to late mother and father Alfred and Armorel Marek. She was raised in the rural town of Perth, New York along with her 3 sisters and brother. Through this upbringing, her love of family and the helping of others blossomed. Barbara graduated Russel Sage College in Troy, New York, where she developed her business acumen and contagious passion for helping others. Through her abilities and passions, she found the gift of seeking the best opportunities for the people she loved. This gift motivated her to travel the country and abroad to open her horizons while having fun along the way. Through her travels, Barbara met the love of her life Keith Trunko. On August 25, 1990, Barbara married Keith who would be her devoted husband for 31 years. Together they enjoyed their 31 years, and raised sons Justin and Tyler. She believed her sons were her greatest accomplishment and gave them unconditional love and support. Along with Barbara’s passion to live life to the fullest, she lived a life dedicated to others. While helping raise a family, Barbara used her business acumen to help develop KitchenTech where she rose to become Vice President and Partner. Through her successes in business, Barbara lived through providing for her family and to give back to her community. She believed in acts of service in which she supported, Stonewall Jackson And Patriot High Schools. As well as, Mighty Oaks, Wounded Warriors, and Sinclair Elementary through passion projects at her Church (The Life Church). Seeing the smilies and laughter of others gave her the greatest joy. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Armorel Marek. She is survived to cherish her memory by her husband Keith and sons Justin and Tyler; Siblings Leslie Marek Beckett, Alfred Marek, Donna Marek, and Patricia Marek O’Neil. As well as, 12 nieces & nephews and 13 great nieces and nephews. Barbara is also cherished in memory by extended family, business partner and friend, Glen Petitt, the KitchenTech family as well as an abundance of friends that she loved. In lieu of flowers and in honor of Barbara, the family has requested donations be made to The Mighty Oaks Foundation (https://www.mightyoaksprograms.org/donate/#form) Visitation will be held on Friday October 22, 2021 from 5pm - 8pm at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center St Manassas, VA 20110. Funeral service will be held Saturday October 23, 2021 at 10am at the same location. Interment will be held on October 23, 2021 at 12pm at Stonewall Memory Gardens 12004 Lee Hwy Manassas, VA 20109.
