**Obituary for Barbara Mae Tasker** Barbara Mae Tasker, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend to many, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2024. Born on January 17, 1942, in Willimantic, Connecticut, Barbara lived a life full of love, faith, and dedication to her family and her career. She is survived by her four devout children, Jennifer Thompson (Donald Deloid), Kelly Neiman (Dean), Marc Tasker (Denice), and Stephanie Schutter (James), as well as her nine adoring grandchildren, Chase, Jordan, Danielle, Rhett, Jessica, Emily, Bryce, Dylan, and Luke, and her two great-grandchildren, Grayson and Poppy. Barbara is also survived by her brother, Ken Talge, her sister-in-law, Geraldine Talge, her brother-in-law, Ronald Tasker (Sandra), and her sister-in-law, Karen Anderson. Barbara was deeply devoted to her family, and her love and support were the cornerstones of their lives. Her warmth, kindness, and boundless love touched the hearts of everyone she met. She was not only a pillar of strength for her family but also an inspiration to all who knew her. Many of her children's friends also considered her an adopted mother, drawn to her nurturing spirit and generous heart. At the age of thirteen, Barbara met Jan, the love of her life, after asking him to the Sadie Hawkins dance. They were inseparable from that moment on. Barbara graduated from the University of Connecticut (UCONN) and pursued a rewarding career as a physical therapist, dedicating her life to caring for the elderly. Her compassion and dedication to her patients were evident in the countless lives she improved and the comfort she provided to those in need. Barbara and Jan raised their family in Occoquan Forest, where they were actively involved in their community, forming lifelong friendships and creating cherished memories. After nearly 40 years in Occoquan Forest, they downsized to the Gatherings at Wellington, where they continued to foster deep connections and enjoyed their retirement together. After the passing of her husband, Barbara resided at Caton Merchant and Heritage Village, where she continued to spread her love and kindness to the residents and staff who took care of her. Her presence brought comfort and joy to many, and she was beloved by all who met her. Barbara's deep faith was a guiding light throughout her life, providing her with strength and comfort. She now joins her beloved husband, Jan Tasker, and her parents, Margaret and Joseph Talge, in heaven. A dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, Barbara's legacy of love, compassion, and faith will be remembered and cherished by all. The family will receive guests on Thursday, June 13, from 6 pm-8 pm at Pierce's Funeral Home located at 9609 Center Street in Manassas, VA 20110. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 14, at 10:00 AM at All Saints Catholic Church at 9300 Stonewall Road, Manassas, VA 20110.
