Barbara Dawn Cleary

Barbara Dawn Cleary, age 51, passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 21, 2018 in Wylliesburg, VA. She was born on December 3, 1966 in Prince William County and grew up in Manassas, Virginia with a large blended family. A graduate of Osbourn Park High School, she spent most of her adult life in jobs serving her community – from bus driver to county parks and recreation employee – she was a caring woman whose laughter was contagious and whose humor will be remembered. Barbara enjoyed traveling and being outdoors, no matter the weather. She was fond of beach vacations and playing in the snow and was the first to volunteer to be your road trip partner even without any notice. She will be remembered for her gift of humor and her willingness to help others, be they friend or stranger. Her nieces and nephews will remember her as the “fun aunt” who would take the children to the amusement park, sledding or just a walk in the woods. She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest “Grant” Dotson and her brother, Forrest Dotson. Survivors include her daughter, Krystal Lynn Finall of Wylliesburg, Virginia; her son, Patrick Justin Cleary of Stafford, Virginia; her husband, Patrick Joseph Cleary of Fredericksburg, Virginia; her granddaughters, Tory Lynn Marquis and Shay Lynn Marquis, both of Wylliesburg, Virginia; her mother, Ruth Dotson of Manassas, Virginia; three sisters, Melody (Joe) LaGrave of Suffolk, Virginia, Renee (Scott) Cray of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Charity Pearson of Sterling, Virginia. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and countless other close family members. The family will receive friends from 9:00am to 10:00am Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA where memorial services will be held at 10:00am with Glenn Shifflett officiating. The family will have a reception immediately following services at the home of Ruth Dotson: 12100 Lucasville Road, Manassas, Virginia 20112. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been created for Barbara’s granddaughters.
