Ann Lowe Thomas

Ann Lowe Thomas of Nokesville, VA passed away peacefully on August 26, 2020, at the age of 78 and is now playing Bingo and Bridge when not at the softball fields. Ann was born in Bedford County, Virginia on May 6 1942, the second of six children. She grew up in Fancy Gap, VA and graduated from Woodlawn High School. Ann attended National Business College and worked as a Histolic Technician at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. On June 15, 1962 she married the love of her life, RB Thomas, Jr. a Civil Engineering student at Virginia Tech. Ann’s friends and family relished her friendly presence and great big smile. She was a social person making new friends everywhere she went. One of Ann’s favorite experiences included traveling to new states and making it to New Mexico, the last (50th) state to visit. Ann loved attending softball games with her husband and she loved the opportunity to meet senior softball players from all across the United States. Ann will be remembered as a wonderful Mother whose wisdom, generosity and thoughtfulness influenced and inspired all who knew her. Ann was a devoted wife of RB Thomas, Jr. for 58 years, loving mother of Richard Douglas, Sara Paige, Gregory Alan, David Andrew (Tina), Bradley Steven, Amy Lynn and Cathy Jo (Ron), grandmother of Tyler, Drew and Ryan Van Hook, Ally, Shelby, Madison, Ben, Alex, Jacob, Emma and Sydney Thomas ,and Jenna and Cara Dove, and great grandchildren Landon, Jackson and Colton Van Hook and Chloe Gouch. Ann is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. She dearly loved her family…all of them. Visitation with the family will be available on Monday evening, August 31st from 5:00-8:00 PM remembering the Covid Limitations of 50 people at a time in Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, Va. Be considerate of the family and others attending by making your visit brief to allow all to attend. Funeral services on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Nokesville United Methodist Church, 12250 Aden Road, Nokesville, VA 20181.Before entering into the church building, ushers will ask all attendees of their health conditions and record their names and contact numbers. Wearing masks in the church building is mandatory. No one can enter without a mask. Before, during, and after the service, 6-foot distance in the church building is mandatory. The maximum capacity in the sanctuary with a 6-foot distance is 150. For those who are uncomfortable wearing masks or who come after the 150th, they can join either at radio FM90-3MHz in the church parking lot or at online https://youtu.be/ize7uU0xiaY. Interment to follow at Manassas Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Nokesville United Methodist Church.
