Angeles Tobia Policios

Angeles Tobia Policios, 96, of Haymarket, Virginia, passed away on January 3, 2026. She was born on August 2, 1930 in Bontoc, Leyte, Philippines to Benita Mamali and Felipe Tobia. Angeles was a pillar of the family, nurturing, who found immense joy being around her four grandchildren whom she helped raise and were her light even in later years. She was affectionate and sociable who was happiest being surrounded by family and friends. Before moving to the U.S., she was very active in her church parish community in Cebu, Philippines having served as President of the Catholic Women’s League, and largely instrumental for making the parish cultural center a reality. She was known for her generosity in family and community matters having helped needy relatives and a few seminarians in their pursuit for higher education. She will always be cherished as a devoted parent, an adoring grandparent, and a supportive and charitable spirit. Angeles was survived by her children, Jesamine P. Basanung, Dahlia P. Daguiso, Alex Policios, Norma P. Hilvano, and Ida P. Munsayac, and their spouses, Ildefonso Daguiso, Eunice Policios, Francisco Hilvano, and Jonathan Munsayac; Grandchildren in the US, Michael Daniel Daguiso, Dan Manuel Munsayac, Francis Jorie Hilvano, Nicolas Hilvano, and Sharon Simango; Grandchildren in the Philippines Shellah Ruth Purisima, Jerome Basanung, Zandra Mendoza, Shari Medequillo; Great Granchilden in the U.S., Avery Francis P. Hilvano, Ayden Tran Hilvano, Chelsea Olivo, Zeke Simango; Great Grandchildren in the Philippines, Izza Belle Purisima, Alexa Purisima, Bea Basanung, Jade Basanung, Shameena Basanung, Sid Medequillo, Akim Medequillo, Yella Medequillo, Xavier Mendoza, Bree Mendoza, and Amelisse Mendoza. A viewing will be held for Angeles on Monday, January 12, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Pierce Funeral Home (9609 Center Street, Manassas, Virginia 20110). Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on January 13, 2026 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (8213 Linton Hall Road, Gainesville, Virginia 20155). Burial will follow immediately after mass at 12:00 Noon at Stonewall Memory Gardens, 12004 Lee Highway, Manassas, Virginia 20109.
