Alfonso Mario Cabrera

Alfonso Mario Cabrera passed away in his home on January 3, 2025, in Manassas, Virginia, at the age of 71. He was born on August 31, 1953 to Ahidee and Alejandro in Oruro, Bolivia. He was one of seven siblings and carried with him a deep connection to his roots throughout his life. After graduating from Anglo American School he moved to the states to study Mechanical Engineering and graduated from the University of Alabama. A man of many talents and unwavering dedication, Alfonso built a distinguished career as a mechanical engineer. His career allowed him the freedom to travel the world and live in Italy, Australia, and Asia throughout various roles. His hard work, determination, and passion for learning were hallmarks of his professional life. Beyond his career achievements, he embraced life with passion and vigor. He was an accomplished marathon runner who found joy in pushing his limits, an avid tennis player who relished the spirit of competition, and a world traveler who sought out the beauty and diversity of God’s creation. He was always the life of the party in any room he walked into and you could always find him on the dance floor or sparking up a conversation with a stranger. He cherished his family with all his heart and exemplified the strength and beauty of leaning on one another through life's joys and challenges. Alfonso is lovingly remembered by his five children: Alfonso, Gabriela, Richard, Phillip, and Lisa. His legacy continues through his five cherished grandchildren: Elysia, Leah, Alfonso, Michael, and Benjamin. Alfonso held a strong Catholic faith that guided him throughout his life. Those who knew him take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace in the presence of the Lord with his Mother, Father, and Sister: Ahidee, Alejandro and Gloria. His memory will forever inspire those whose lives he touched. Although Alfonso is gone, he will live in our hearts forever. A viewing will be held at Pierce Funeral Home on January 22, 2025 at 6 pm. The funeral service will be held at All Saints Catholic Church on January 23, 2025 at 10:30 am. Alfonso’s final resting place will be at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church cemetery in Manassas, Virginia.
