Sidra Katherine Seeley

Sidra Katherine Seeley, 71, of Gainesville, Virginia, passed away on July 1, 2020. She was born in Fort Myer, Arlington, Virginia to Katherine and Sidney Singer on October 26, 1948. Sidra joins her parents Sidney and Katherine. She is survived by her son, Thrine Harpring of Centreville, VA; Brothers Richard Singer of Gainesville, VA and Arthur Singer, Gordonsville, VA; Grandchildren Sydney, Carter, and Aubrey Harpring of Centreville, VA and other family members. Sidra had two successful careers. Her first career was working for Kaiser Permanente as she worked her way up the corporate ladder and retired as the Senior Vice President of Operations and Support Services. She retired for a couple of years in Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, where she enjoyed eating lobster, biking and photography. In Sidra’s other career she helped her brother, Richard Singer, build the number one emergency vehicle dealership in the country until the business was sold in 2010. She then retired to Sunset Beach, NC to enjoy the weather, golfing, playing card games, watching movies, playing dominoes, her dog Bogey and drinking California cabernet red wine with friends. She was always having fun and she enjoyed speaking her mind as well as supporting the Democratic party. Sidra was generous in many ways. She gave back to the community by volunteering her time on the board of the Transitional Housing BARN of Bristow, VA. One of her many accomplishments with the Transitional Housing BARN, was her role helping homeless women on a path to find jobs and housing for their families. Sidra loved all her family and friends. She had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren who were the light of her eye. Sidra was generous to all of her family and friends. She would do anything in her power to make them feel loved and happy. Sidra’s smile was infectious and her laugh could be heard from miles away. Inurnment will be at Place of Peace in Bristow, Virginia with immediate family and friends.
