Linda Keene Lewis

On July 3, 2024, Linda Mary Keene Lewis (Rabiei), 83, of Alexandria, Virginia, returned to her Father in heaven. Linda was born in Oswego, New York on September 5, 1940. Linda was selfless and generous, sharing a smile with everyone through good and challenging times. At the age of 18, she moved to Washington, D.C. to attend George Washington University. She began her distinguished career while still a student there, beginning with the Office of International Conferences at the Department of State. While getting married and starting a family, she worked at the Institute for Defense Analysis (IDA). She later worked at Georgetown University Law Center and several law firms, including Hogan and Hartson, and she retired as a legal secretary at Sidley Austin LLP. Linda was active with scouting, charities, and politics. She loved all kinds of music, as well as ballet and theatre. Everyone who knew Linda knew she was most proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. They were the highlight of her life and she adored them all. Her home was filled with pictures of them, and she loved to talk about them. Linda was an exceptionally hardworking, dedicated mother and wife. When her late husband "Tony" was unexpectedly injured, she spent time by his side daily for many years and coordinated with his medical team. She did this while working to maintain her career. Linda never missed an opportunity to attend a concert or event of a child or grandchild while she was physically able to do so. She knew the importance of being there for family and friends, or just being there to listen and love without judgement. In her later years, Linda learned to be on the receiving end of the help she often extended to others. She was so very grateful for those who supported her. She was brave and courageous. She held a deep faith in God throughout her life, which sustained her through struggles. She was raised Catholic and later became a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Linda was very loved and will be deeply missed. Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Frank Francis Keene and Rita Mary Combs, her husband Hossein "Tony" Rabiei, and a grandson Daniel Hansman. She is survived by her son, Albert Lewis, Jr (Kristin), and 2 daughters Lisa Lehmuller and Laura Knauf (Dwayne); six grandchildren Rebecca Winters Giles (David), Katie Melendez (Daniel), Jennifer Dawson, Luke Lehmuller, John Lewis, and Maren Lewis; one great-grandchild Clara Giles; and her brother F. Joseph Keene. Visitation will be on Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 9-10 a.m., followed by memorial service from 10-11 a.m. Following the memorial, burial will be at 12 p.m. The viewing will be held on July 20, 2024, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 3900 Howard Street, Annandale, VA Funeral services will follow on July 20, 2024, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 3900 Howard Street, Annandale, VA Burial will follow on July 20, 2024 at 12:00 p.m.: National Memorial Park, Magnolia Garden 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042
