John Raymond McIntosh Jr.

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of John Raymond McIntosh, Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather and “Uncle”, who left on May 18, 2024, in Manassas, Virginia, with his wife by his side. He was born on April 12, 1951, in Washington, DC, to the late John Raymond McIntosh, Sr. and Odessa Leoma McIntosh. He grew up in Brentsville, Virginia, and attended Osbourn High School before entering the workforce. John had a full career, having worked for IBM and the Prince William County School System before ultimately retiring from George Mason University. After retirement, he found joy and fulfillment in working at Pierce Funeral Home. John is survived by his wife of 49 years, Virginia Dixon McIntosh; his son, Paul M. McIntosh and his wife Sarah; and his cherished grandchildren, Caroline, Rebecca, Jefferson, and Ella. He is also remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his sisters, Juanita Whitt and Brenda Crisp. In his personal life, “Johnny” found joy in being active, being outdoors, going to the beach and Disney World with family, traveling with friends, and most of all, loving his grandchildren. He also took great pride in maintaining a well-manicured yard, a testament to his love for creating beautiful surroundings. The family will welcome friends at a visitation on Friday, May 24, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA. A funeral service will be held at Pierce Funeral Home on Saturday, May 25, at 12:30 pm, followed by interment at Stonewall Memory Gardens. John's presence will be dearly missed, and his memory will be cherished forever. He will be remembered for his kindness, wit, laughter, and love for his family and friends. In a final act of generosity and compassion, John chose to be an organ donor, offering the gift of a better life to those in need. We encourage others to honor his legacy by considering organ donation so that more lives can be touched by this profound act of kindness.
