Gloria Dolores Younis

Gloria Dolores Younis, known as Dee Dee by all, passed from this life peacefully on Saturday, October 1, 2022. Dee Dee was 86 years young. Dee Dee was born on January 24,1936 to Albert and Rose Marie Younis in Indiana Pa, where she lived much of her life until moving to Manassas VA to live with her sister Patricia and brother in law, Steve Butchock. She graduated from Indiana Area Senior High School. Dee Dee and her beloved sister, Patricia, worked at the Manos Theatre during her high school years. Their fun times and adventures were unparalleled, they were sisters and truly best friends. Dee Dee loved life, she was humble, satisfied with simple things, never disappointed with what life offered, her glass was always half full. Singing, dancing and music were her favorite pastime. She always shared a memory of singing on the radio as a teen in Indiana Pa, on WDAD, and says she believed she had a future in the industry if she wanted one. After moving to Manassas, she, her sister and brother in law didn't miss many weekends at any one of the local venues where live music happened to be. Between the local Moose(s), Penn Mar, and Harris Pavilion, they were known by all, and formed life long friendships with concert goers and musicians alike. Dee Dee was an amazing dancer, she lit up a room and knew how to cut a rug. She is dearly missed. When Dee Dee wasn't dancing, she was caring for her family, young and old, fulfilling everyone's needs, beyond what words can describe. She was selfless, loyal, fearless and proud of what God had given her. Dee Dee had an unbreakable faith in the Lord to whom all of her cares and worries were given. She was full of grace. Dee Dee is survived by her only child and loving daughter Michele Weir, son in law Dave Weir, granddaughter Katherine Weir, grandson Bailey Weir, great granddaughter Abby Roberts, great grandson Ethan Roberts, niece Mona Butchock and partner Candace Ashworth and Pam Ruoff. She is preceded in death by her first grandchild, Cristina Weir, sister Patricia Butchock and brother in law Steve Butchock. A viewing will be held at Pierce Funeral Home in Manassas on Sunday October 9, 2022 from 3-5 pm and a service will follow at 5 pm.
