Eva Elizabeth Carter

Eva Elizabeth Carter age 85 passed away peacefully on Sunday April 5, 2020 from Alzheimers. She had family by her side. Eva is preceded in death by her husband Robert F Carter Sr, mother Mary Saunders Hancock, father James W. Hancock Sr.; son Robert (Bobby) F Carter Jr.; brother Clyde Hancock, sister Gracie Dawson and brother Donald Hancock. She is survived by her three daughters Barbara Fisher and husband Fred of Sumerduck Va, Wanda Perry of Round Hill Va, and Debra Huntt and husband Charles of Front Royal Va. Eva is survived by her brothers Jesse Hancock of Gretna Va , James Hancock of Burr Hill Va, sister Doris Green of Manassas Va, brother in law Wilbert Pullen of Manassas Va, and sister in law Betty Hancock of Fredericksburg Va. Eva had 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She also had many cousins, nieces and nephews. She cared deeply and loved all of her family. Eva worked over the years at Fairfax County schools in food service. She enjoyed working and especially with her co workers whom became close friends. Eva was a devoted Christian who attended Community Baptist Church regularly until she moved to Front Royal where she was no longer able to make the drive. Her church family was a very important part of her life. She kept in touch with a lot of her church friends before developing her illness. She loved serving the Lord with all her heart. Eva was a loving and caring mom. She stayed at home with her children until they were old enough to care for themselves. She always put her family first. She was a devoted wife for over fifty years. Eva loved being around her family. One of her pass times was spending time at the Arcola senior center doing crafts and of course fellowship with her friends. Of all the things she loved to do I think playing a game of cards with family or friend was her favorite. She even taught a couple of the great grandchildren how to play when there was no one else. She had such a beautiful smile and a great out look on life. Eva will be truly missed by all that had the opportunity to know her. We will be having a Celebration of Life service in the near future. We will notify everyone when we are able to make plans for this event. The family would like to thank everyone who reached out and gave words of encouragement, calls, notes or cards and visits.
